THE HOTEL 1928

The 1928 Hotel Magnolia is a unique, vintage property located in Waco Texas. It was restored in 2023 by Magnolia Design out of love and respect for its storied history, character and architecture. In its day, the original structure served as a gathering place with philanthropic ideals and accomplishments on behalf of the surrounding community for decades. Its abandoned 53,000 sq foot building was painstakingly renovated, keeping the cultural “golden age” integrity of the era alive through design elements and museum-like details. 

Samuelson Furniture was proudly specified by Magnolia Design to capture the luxurious Gatsby, art-deco vibe throughout the 33 guest rooms as well as public area tables. The furniture reflects great attention to detail with period carved turnings, decorative trims and rich finishes, while providing a fresh look and feel to the ambiance.  Travelers and local guests alike are drawn into the nostalgia and rich history reflected with authenticity throughout.
